Albert Licup, O.D. grew up
in Oak Park, Illinois, where he attended St.
Edmund Parish Grade School and Fenwick High
School. He received his Bachelor of Science
in Education and Social Policy degree from
Northwestern University and earned his
Doctorate of Optometry degree from the
Illinois College of Optometry.
Dr. Licup has served as the Department Head
of Optometry at Naval Health Clinic Great
Lakes, IL, where he oversaw eye care
screenings and exams for 41,000 new Navy
sailors annually. He also directed an
on-site optical fabrication lab
manufacturing over 12,000 glasses per year.
Additionally, he served as the Optometry
Externship Director, coordinating
graduate-level training for 10 optometry
students yearly. Al was an Adjunct
Clinical Instructor for the Illinois College
of Optometry and Southern College of
Optometry. |

As an optometry student, Al received several
awards for leadership and was national president of the
American Optometric Students Association. Prior to
attending graduate school, he served for five years as a
surface warfare officer in the United States Navy and
conducted two six-month deployments to the Middle East
before returning to his hometown.
Dr. Licup is a member of the American Optometric
Association, the Illinois Optometric Association, and
West Suburban Optometric Society. He is also a member of
the Oak Park Chamber of Commerce, the Madison Street
Business Association, and the Oak Park Medical Reserve
Corps. He lives in Oak Park with his wife, Katie, and
their son, Mark.
